Preschool Storytime

Title: Preschool Storytime

Day of the week/Time: Thursday 11-11:45

Ages: 3-6 years

Goals: Provide a storytime that helps children develop skills that are needed to be successful in school, such as working in a group setting, following directions, and prewriting skills.

Reasoning for Program: Preschoolers will soon be starting Kindergarten. To increase their chance of success when starting formal schooling this storytime will help them develop Kindergarten readiness skills while still being exposed to the traditional literacy skills of reading, singing, and writing.

Activities: The schedule will include several books, songs, and a craft that children can take home.

Supplies: Books in library collection, bubbles, stickers, supplies for crafts, scarves, small bean bags for tossing.

Staff: Librarian or library assistant

Community Partners: N/A

Budget: Included in $600 yearly storytime budget.
